I'm really excited to find out that my radio and broadcast plays for the USA have have grown to over 200,000!
(Over 1/4 Million for North America!) That's not too bad for an independent artist!!!
So I'd like to say again: thanks for listening, and thanks to all the radio DJs and programmers out there who
schedule my music to be shared with their listeners, and thanks to BMI
for the quarterly updates too! You're awesome!

Signed artist endorsement agreement

Hi folks! I'm psyched to let you know that I've just signed an artist endorsement
agreement with Duncan Turner Acoustic Research (D-TAR). I'll be using their Solstice and
Mama Bear units for live performances. Awesome gear that really lets the natural sound of
my guitars come through live.

Compass Rose breaks Echoes Top Ten

Hey everybody! My Compass Rose CD got to #9 on the Echoes Radio Top 25 for November! How cool is that! I had made their Top 25 in October at #23, September at #24, and at other times in the past, but this is the first time in the top ten!

Peter's CDs now available to retailers from Music Design

Eastern Woods Music announced its newly agreed distribution partnership with Music Design, of Milwaukee Wisconsin (a division of Allegro Corporation.) Under the agreement, Music Design will handle the distribution of the Peter Janson Compass Rose and Winter Gifts albums to its retailer customers. It will be available starting in October 2009. Eastern Woods Music administers and produces the work of its premier solo artist, Peter Janson.

Guitar festivals and west coast tour

Hi folks! I'll be perfoming a whole bunch this summer including the Montreal Guitar Show (Montreal International Jazz Festival), the Healdsburg Guitar Festival, and a west coast US tour. At Montreal I'll be performing daytime mini-concerts and regular nighttime concerts on July third, fourth, and fifth. If you're a guitar junkie this is THE place to be!
At Healdsburg I'll be performing daytime mini-concerts, an Artistry of the Guitar concert with Ken Bonfield and Larry Pattis, and I'll be giving an acoustic guitar workshop - dates are August 14-16. Other concert cities on the west coast tour include Draper UT, Salt Lake City UT, Willits CA, Chico CA, Davis CA, Santa Rosa CA, Monterey CA, and Los Angeles. I can't wait to play for y'all!

Hi everybody! My Winter Gifts record received a sparkling article/review in the February 17th issues of the Carver Reporter and Old Colony Memorial Newspapers (MA). Emily Wilcox writes "In a market glutted with songwriters' frenzied attempts to communicate in today's fast and furious style, Janson has slipped out the back door along with other artists like Norah Jones and Bruce Cockburn."
I never thought I'd be compared in any way to Norah or Bruce, but I'm flattered!

Hi folks! I've signed artist endorsement agreements with Thomastik-Infeld of Austria and G7th Capos of England. I've been using TI strings and G7th capos for so long now, and they have been such an important part of my artistic expression that I'm really delighted to "officially" endorse their products. I highly recommend for any guitarist to check them out.
